Biography

Dr. Ranjit Kumar Biswas is a Professor at the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, University of Rajshahi. His research programme spans hydrometallurgy and separation science — with sustained contributions in leaching of mineral resources, liquid-liquid (solvent) extraction of metal ions, kinetics of leaching and extraction processes, precipitation chemistry, and ion-exchange separation. His scholarship is reflected in a substantial peer-reviewed publication record with over 1,800 citations and an h-index of 26 (Google Scholar).

As a senior member of the Joint Advisory Team (JAT) of the Kekuleon Research and Training Center (KRTC), he provides academic guidance on curriculum design, applied training methodology, and laboratory infrastructure — particularly in the areas of hydrometallurgy, separation science, and analytical chemistry — helping align KRTC's programmes with internationally benchmarked standards.
